How to Play
- Tap the screen (or press Space) to wake the first block. It starts gliding from one side to the other above your tower.
- Tap again to drop it. The block lands on the floor below.
- Any part that hangs over the edge is sliced off and tumbles away. Only the overlapping part stays.
- A new, equally narrow block then slides in from the opposite side. Keep dropping and keep climbing.
- If a block misses the tower completely, it falls, and your building session is over.
Rules
Each block you land adds one floor to your height. Your score is that height plus any bonus points you earn from perfect drops.
A drop counts as perfect when the block lines up almost exactly with the one below it. Instead of being trimmed, it snaps neatly into place, keeps its full width and gives you a bonus point. Landing several perfect drops in a row builds a combo. From the third perfect drop onward, the tower even grows back a little wider each time, up to the size of the base.
The sliding speed rises slowly with every new floor, and the camera rises too, so you always see the top of your work. The colours of the blocks and the sky change gradually as you climb, which makes it easy to feel how far you have come.
Tips & Strategy
- Watch the edge, not the whole block. Focus on one side, such as the left edge of the sliding block, and tap when it meets the left edge of the floor below. One line is easier to judge than a whole shape.
- Protect your width early. In the first ten floors the block is slow, so this is the best time to collect perfect drops and keep the tower wide for later.
- Chase combos to heal a thin tower. Three perfect drops in a row start regrowing the width, so a narrow tower is not a lost cause if you stay calm.
- Count the rhythm. The block moves at a steady speed between bounces. Silently counting the beats of one full sweep helps you time your tap.
- Tap on the way in, not the way out. Dropping while the block is still arriving gives you a moment to react; waiting for it to come back doubles the chance of a nervous miss.
Game Modes
Stack Tower is a solo game with one simple goal: build higher than last time. There are no levels or lives, just an endless climb that slowly speeds up. Every run starts with a random colour theme, so the tower looks a little different each time you play.
Play with Friends
Stack Tower makes a lovely pass-the-phone contest at home or on a trip. Take turns building, and compare both height and score, since a player with many perfect drops can win on points even with a shorter tower. You can also try a team tower: pass the phone after every five floors and see how high the group can go together before someone misses.
Stack Tower FAQ
What counts as a perfect drop?
The sliding block has to land within a few pixels of the block below it. When it does, the game snaps it into place, flashes the word “Perfect!” and adds a bonus point.
Why is my block getting thinner?
Every time part of a block hangs over the edge, that part is cut away. The next block is only as wide as what survived, so careful drops keep your tower wide.
Does the game get harder?
Yes, a little. The block slides slightly faster as the tower grows. The speed stops increasing after a while, so a steady hand can keep going for a long time.
Can I keep building after a miss?
Sometimes a continue is offered after your run ends. It gives you a fresh block of the same width as your top floor, and you can use it once per run.
How is my best score saved?
Your best score is stored in this browser on this device. Nothing is sent to a server, and clearing site data resets it.
